A free resume builder and CV maker — no sign-up, no paywall.

Pick a template, fill in your details or edit the HTML directly, preview it on A4 or Letter, and export an ATS-friendly PDF with selectable text. Nothing to register for, and your resume stays in your browser.

Works in modern browsers on desktop and tablet.

What is Resumake?

Resumake is a free, browser-based resume builder.

You choose one of three templates, fill in your details, and export an ATS-friendly PDF. There is no account, no installation and no server-side copy of your CV.

It runs entirely in your browser and is available in English and Simplified Chinese. It is an independent project and is not affiliated with resumake.io.

Why choose Resumake over other resume builders?

Most free resume builders ask you to register first, then charge you to download. Resumake does neither.

Do I need to create an account?

It means 0 fields before you type: no account, no email and no trial. The editor opens with a sample resume already loaded, so the first click is the last setup step.

Is the PDF really free, with no watermark?

It costs $0, with unlimited exports, 3 templates and no watermark or logo added to your resume. There is no download counter and no paid tier to upgrade to.

Will my PDF pass ATS parsing?

It supports ATS parsing: the PDF has a real text layer, one column and standard section headings such as Experience, Education and Skills. That removes the 3 most common reasons a parser rejects a resume.

Is my resume uploaded to a server?

It is not: the resume, photo and settings are stored in this browser only, and the server keeps no resume database. The AI improve button is the single exception, and it sends at most 600 characters of the field you are editing.

What's included in the editor?

Simple controls for content, and full control over the layout when you need it.

Can I edit with a form, or with code?

It allows both: 2 ways to edit the same document — fill in the form section by section, or open Advanced and edit the HTML and CSS directly. You can switch at any point.

Is there a live preview?

It is live: every change appears in under 1 second on an A4 or Letter page, and page breaks are marked as you type.

Can I export selectable text?

It supports selectable text: 3 templates, A4 or Letter, margins from 10 mm to 20 mm, and links that stay clickable in the PDF.

Can I add a photo?

It supports a photo cropped to a 3:4 ID ratio, aligned left, center or right, with an accent color. The photo is optional and is never uploaded.

Is my data private?

It is private by design: 1 copy of the draft lives in this browser's own storage, and a JSON backup file restores it anywhere. No account, no upload, no server-side copy.

Does it support Chinese?

It supports 2 languages: the interface and resume section labels switch between English and Simplified Chinese, and every label can be renamed.

From blank page to PDF in three steps.

  1. Choose a template

Start with a classic, modern or minimal layout. Try the sample data to see how it looks.

  2. Add your details

Enter your profile, experience, education, skills and certificates. Reorder items with one click.

  3. Export the PDF

Click Export PDF, choose "Save as PDF" in the print dialog, and send your resume.

Which resume templates are included?

Three templates, one clean style. Each supports English and Chinese content and can be recolored.

Classic

Centered header, blue dividers and a traditional layout suited to most roles.

Modern

A colored header with an accent line, suited to tech and product roles.

Minimal

Generous whitespace and a clear hierarchy that keeps the focus on your experience.

How much does it cost?

Resumake costs $0.

Every template, unlimited resumes and unlimited PDF exports are free. There is no trial that expires, no paywall at download and no watermark.

An optional Buy Me a Coffee link lets you support the project. It unlocks nothing — the free product is the whole product.

How is Resumake different from other resume builders?

Compared with cloud builders and with other no-account tools.

Resumake Typical cloud builder Other no-account tools
Account required No Usually yes No
Free PDF export Yes, unlimited Often paid or limited Yes
Watermark No Sometimes No
Where your data lives Your browser only Their servers Your browser
AI writing assistant No Yes, often paid Rarely
Best for Fast, private, single-page resumes Heavy AI assistance Open-source workflows

Who is it for?

People who want a clean resume without an account.

It suits students and first-time job seekers, career changers, bilingual applicants writing in English or Chinese, and anyone who would rather not upload a CV to a third-party database.

It is also useful when you are applying from a shared or public computer: you can build, export and leave without signing in to anything.

When should you use it?

Three common use cases.

Applying to one role and needing a clean one-page PDF in a few minutes; tailoring a separate version for each application; and building a resume on a shared or public computer without signing in to anything.

It is also useful when you simply do not want your CV sitting in another company's database.

Frequently asked questions

Is Resumake free to use?

Yes. All 3 templates and unlimited PDF exports cost $0, with no trial that expires and no paywall at download. Tipping via Buy Me a Coffee is optional and unlocks nothing — there is no paid tier, so no feature is held back.

Do I need to create an account?

No. There is no account, no email and no password. Open the editor and start typing; your draft is saved automatically in your browser.

Is my resume data uploaded to a server?

No. Your resume, photo and settings are stored in this browser only (IndexedDB), and the server has no database of resumes. The optional AI improve button is the single exception: pressing it sends only the field you are editing, capped at 600 characters, and the result is not stored.

How does the AI improve button work?

It rewrites the field you are currently editing — at most 600 characters — and shows a suggestion you can accept or discard. Your photo, contact details and other sections are never sent, the model runs with zero data retention, and nothing is saved on a server. A rewrite usually takes 3 to 5 seconds.

Can I export my resume as a PDF with selectable text?

Yes. Export opens your browser print dialog and produces a PDF with a real text layer, so text stays selectable, links stay clickable and ATS software can read it. Paper is A4 or Letter, margins are 10, 15 or 20 mm, and the font scale runs from 80% to 120%.

Do you collect any data?

Three things, and none identifies you. (1) Anonymous crash reports — the error type and a stack trace — used to fix bugs; they never include your resume content, photos or personal details. (2) Anonymous counters: page views via Cloudflare Web Analytics, plus how often the editor is opened or a PDF is exported. (3) The AI endpoint counts requests per IP per minute to enforce its rate limit, and stores no prompt text.

Does Resumake add a watermark to the PDF?

No. The PDF contains only your resume — no watermark, no Resumake logo and no added footer. Exports are unlimited, and nothing is stamped on the file to mark it as free-tier output.

Do I need an email address to use it?

No. Resumake never asks for an email address, does not send verification links and has no password to reset. Nothing is sent to your inbox.

Can I switch templates after I start?

Yes. Switch between Classic, Modern and Minimal at any time. Your content stays the same and the layout is re-rendered instantly.

Does it work on a phone or tablet?

It works in modern desktop and tablet browsers. On a phone the editor opens, but the split form-and-preview layout is cramped; a desktop or tablet is the better experience.

Can I export to Word or DOCX?

No. Resumake exports PDF only, because PDF preserves the exact layout recruiters and applicant tracking systems expect.

What happens if I clear my browser data?

The draft disappears, because it lives in this browser and nowhere else. Use Save backup in the editor to download a single JSON file containing the resume and its settings; Import restores all of it on any device.
